CARETAS: Fantasy & Folklore

Our new solo show of Consuelo Radclyffe’s fantastical ceramic figures opens at Neighbourhood pottery studio, 73/74 Queens Road this Saturday, 21 June. All are welcome to the private view/launch party from 4pm-7pm. It’s shaping up to be quite a spectacle, so do come along if you can.

Consuelo’s work has been literally stopping people in their tracks outside Neighbourhood ever since we first put them in the window late last year. “My figures are often described as dark, joyful and weird,” says Consuelo. “Childhood memories are my main inspiration, and I hope that my work recalls stories in the memory of others, too.” 

A Neighbourhood member, Consuelo has exhibited widely both in the UK and in her native Brazil. Her passion for clay began as a child. But it really took off in mid-life, when she took a BA in ceramics and mixed media at Westminster University in Harrow.
