HOW IT WORKS
We know that schedules can change week on week, so membership at Neighbourhood is flexible. Members choose a plan based on how many 4-hour sessions they would like every month, and then book to come into the studio around their own schedule. We offer morning (9am - 1pm), afternoon (1 - 5pm) and evening (5 - 9pm) sessions most days during the week (soon to be adding weekend sessions as well!).
Once you've become a member and chosen your plan, you will be able to book, reschedule, or cancel your sessions easily via our app!

How do I pay for membership?Membership subscriptions are purchased through our app via debit/credit card. You are able to change your payment card at any time via the app as well. Your subscription will start on the day of purchase and will recur monthly until you cancel your membership. We strive to keep member fees affordable, however in the event that we need to raise monthly membership fees we will give at least 1 month’s notice.
-
How do I end my membership? You can cancel your membership yourself at any time should you need or want to. Cancelled plans continue to be active until the end of their current billing cycle, so you will be able to use the rest of that month's Member Sessions before the cancellation takes place. On your final day of membership, you will need to clear your shelf and remove any works in progress. NOTE: The studio owners reserve the right to terminate a member's membership - effective immediately - in the event of repeated violations of the terms and conditions or disruptive behaviour.

How does firing work?Finished pieces are fired by our studio technicians. We aim to fire pieces as soon as they are ready, but please note that firing could take up to 3 weeks (especially in winter when pieces dry more slowly). If you need a piece urgently, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. Technicians will take every precaution to make sure your pieces make it through the kiln intact, but sometimes accidents happen or problems occur in the kiln which are out of our control. Due to studio capacity restrictions, our studio is not suitable for production level quantities. Members are given an allowance of either 3, 6, or 9 kilos per month of glaze fired work (depending on their membership tier). Anything you wish to fire beyond your allowance will be charged at a rate of £6 per kilo (post firing). Excess allowance does not carry over to the next month if unused.
-
What clay can I use?We have many different types of clay bodies available for members to purchase and experiment with! We regularly stock white, porcelain, buff, flecked, grogged, crank, black, red, and others! Want to try something else? We make regular orders to Scarva, Clay Cellar, and others and we try to put a call out to members beforehand when we can to see if anyone wants to add anything. Saves you the delivery fee! To protect our kilns and equipment, members must get approval from one of the studio owners before using clay, glazes, etc which have not been purchased from the studio.

What's a "Member Session" and when are they offered?Member Sessions are 4-hour slots which members book in order to come in and use the studio.
