Taster Session: Wheel Throwing

Service Description

In this session you will be introduced to the fundamentals of throwing pottery on the potter's wheel. You will learn how to centre clay on the wheel, bring up the walls, and shape the walls out into various shapes. FINISHED WORK At the end of the session, you will choose up to 2 pieces which you would like to have turned (trimmed) and fired. You will also choose a glaze colour for each piece. Neighbourhood technicians will trim, glaze and fire your pieces, and they will be ready for collection a few weeks after the session. You will receive an email when they are ready to be collected. WHAT TO WEAR Clay and glaze both rinse out of clothes very easily, but wear something you don't mind getting a bit messy in. Also, please bring an apron if you have one. If not, we have spare ones you can use. NOTE: Participants must be 18 or over.
