Fancy a bit of pottery painting? Come along, pick something lovely from our ever-changing collection of handmade ceramics, and make it your own! Keep it simple, get experimental, paint your cat on a mug, cover a bowl in squiggles – anything goes. No experience needed, no pressure to make a masterpiece, just a chance to get creative. Come on your own, bring a friend, make a date of it, or get the whole family involved. Everyone's welcome! WHEN? Book online to guarantee yourself a spot, or just turn up and see if there's a chair free! Monday–Wednesday: 9am–5pm Friday: 1pm–5pm Saturday & Sunday: 9am–1pm There's no fixed session length, so pop in for an hour or settle in for a few. Last arrivals are 30 minutes before closing, but we'd recommend allowing at least an hour. HOW MUCH? Studio fee: £3 per person, per hour This covers your time in the studio and all the paints, brushes and materials you'll need. Book online for £3, which covers your first hour, and pay for any extra time on the day. Pottery: £5–£40 per piece Every piece is individually priced, so choose something to suit your budget. Paint one little trinket or a whole collection – it's up to you! Glazing and firing are included in the price. HOW DOES IT WORK? 1. Pick your pottery Browse our shelves of handmade ceramics and choose whatever takes your fancy. From mugs and bowls to figurines, decorations, vases and trinkets, there's always something different to discover. 2. Get painting! We'll give you a quick introduction to underglazing (a type of ceramic painting) and share a few tips for getting the best out of your designs. Then you're free to get stuck in! All materials are provided, and we're always around if you need a hand. 3. Leave the firing to us Once you're finished, leave your creations with us. We'll give them a clear, food-safe glaze and fire them in our kilns, making your designs permanent and giving everything a lovely glossy finish. 4. Collect your creations! Your finished pottery will be ready 2 weeks after your visit. We won't send a collection notification, so just pop back into the studio after two weeks to pick up your masterpieces! No experience necessary Children are very welcome to join in - under 13s must be accompanied by an adult.
