Service Description

Give pottery a go or build your skills with one-to-one lessons that fit around your schedule! Fancy trying pottery for the first time, developing your skills, or getting a little help with something tricky? Our private lessons give you the time, space and support to work on whatever interests you. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced potter, each lesson is tailored to your abilities, interests and goals. There's no set curriculum and no need to keep up with a group – just you, your teacher and plenty of clay to get stuck into! WHAT CAN I LEARN? Pretty much anything pottery-related! If you're new to clay, you can learn the basics of wheel throwing or handbuilding. If you've got some experience, you might want to tackle a tricky technique, develop your creative style or work on a specific project. YOUR LESSON COULD COVER: Wheel throwing: from your first pot to throwing taller or more complex forms Handbuilding: coiling, slab building and sculpture Glazing and surface decoration: exploring colours, textures and finishing techniques Developing your ideas: working through a particular project, experimenting with new techniques or finding your own creative style Or anything else pottery-related you'd like some help with! HOW DOES IT WORK? Choose a one, two or three-hour lesson depending on what you'd like to work on. Let us know what you're interested in learning when you book, and we'll tailor the session to suit you. You'll have dedicated time with an experienced ceramicist who can guide you through the basics, help you tackle something tricky or support you with your own projects. All materials, tools, glazing and firing are included. You can make as many pieces as you like during your lesson, then choose your favourites to keep. HOW MUCH? Lesson Price Pots included 1 hour: £30 (1 pot included) 2 hours: £55 (2 pots included) 3 hours: £80 (3 pots included) Want to keep more? Additional pots are £10 each, including glazing and firing. Your finished pottery will be ready to collect approximately four weeks after your lesson. WHEN? Private lessons are available during the following hours: Monday–Wednesday: 9am–5pm Friday: 1pm–5pm Saturday–Sunday: 9am–1pm Whether you're looking for a one-off introduction to pottery, some extra help alongside a course or membership, or dedicated time to develop your practice, we'd love to help you get stuck in!
